Chopard Ice Cube

ABOUT COLLECTION

Chopard Ice Cube is a collection from the Swiss house of Chopard, created in 1999 as a composition of small graphic cubes. The name is literal — an ice cube: the square facets reflect light from neighbouring surfaces, so the piece sparkles without a single stone. The line grew at the meeting point of jewellery and watchmaking: it began with jewellery, and the same geometric code was carried over to the watches — a square case with cubic relief on the bezel and sides, making it both a piece of jewellery and a watch.

In the house's jewellery catalogue, gold is labelled by colour: ethical rose gold, ethical white gold and ethical yellow gold. Diamond setting comes in stages — from plain facets and a single stone to half and full diamond setting.

One example is the women's Ice Cube watch: a 24 × 24 mm square case in 18-carat white gold, a fully pavé-set diamond dial, blued hands, sapphire crystal and a Swiss Chopard quartz calibre.

Related Chopard collections include Happy Diamonds, Happy Sport, Alpine Eagle and L.U.C.
