Parmigiani Tonda PF

ABOUT COLLECTION

Tonda PF is the sporty-elegant line from the Parmigiani Fleurier manufacture, launched in 2021 for the house's 25th anniversary. It is recognisable by three things: a round case with an integrated bracelet, a knurled bezel in 950 platinum and a fine Grain d'Orge guilloché pattern on the dial. The knurling is done by hand, and platinum plays with light quite differently from polished steel. The dial carries almost no text: instead of the brand name, an oval PF logo sits at 12 o'clock.

The platinum bezel is fitted to steel models too – a signature of the series rather than a mark of a precious version. The Tonda PF Micro-Rotor uses a micro-rotor calibre: the small automatic rotor is set into the plane of the movement, keeping the case slim enough to slip under a shirt cuff. Hand finishing of the bridges and bevels is the very reason to choose this line: it is fine watchmaking, not production-line assembly.

The collection is arranged by complexity. The core versions are the Tonda PF Micro-Rotor and the compact Tonda PF 36 mm Automatic. The chronographs go further: the Tonda PF Chronograph, the sporty Tonda PF Sport Chronograph in stainless steel, the Tonda PF Split-Seconds Chronograph and the Tonda PF Chronographe Mystérieux. For travellers, the brand created the Tonda PF GMT Rattrapante and the Tonda PF Minute Rattrapante – both complications were world firsts. The most complex pieces are the Tonda PF Skeleton, the Tonda PF Flying Tourbillon and the Tonda PF Xiali Chinese Calendar.
