Van Cleef & Arpels Alhambra

The Alhambra collection comprises the jewellery watches of the Parisian Maison Van Cleef & Arpels. It is built on the brand's signature four-leaf clover motif, which first appeared in 1968 as a long talisman necklace. The motif then moved to bracelets, rings, pendants and earrings, and eventually to wristwatches.

The line's defining feature is a clover-shaped case edged with golden beading in the perlée technique. The dial is a plate of natural stone or mother-of-pearl: the collection includes white and grey mother-of-pearl, black onyx, malachite, carnelian, turquoise, lapis lazuli and diamond pavé, each plate selected by hand for its pattern and colour. Sizes range from the miniature Sweet Alhambra to the bolder Vintage Alhambra. A separate branch is the "secret" watch, in which the dial is hidden from view. The watches are worn on alligator leather or satin straps, or on gold bracelets of clover links.

The collection includes the Alhambra Women's Watch Rose Gold 40mm. It has a clover case in 18 ct (750) rose gold with a diamond-set bezel and a white mother-of-pearl dial under sapphire crystal. Inside is a Swiss quartz movement; the strap is black leather with a rose gold buckle. Other watches from the Maison are in the Charms Extraordinaire and Midnight collections.
