Panerai Luminor

ABOUT COLLECTION

Luminor is a collection from Panerai. The Florentine brand developed instruments for the Italian Navy's underwater special forces, and the collection takes its name from Luminor, the luminous compound registered in 1949. The Luminor is recognised by its cushion case and patented crown-protecting bridge: a lever presses the crown in and keeps the case watertight. Many versions have a sandwich dial, with numerals and markers cut out of the top plate over a layer of Super-LumiNova, so the watch is legible in the dark.

The collection has several branches. The Luminor Logo and Luminor Base are pared-back core models; the Logo dial carries the OP mark for Officine Panerai. The Luminor 1950 and Officine Luminor 1950 reproduce the "1950" case shape, some with a domed crystal. Separate branches include the slim Luminor Due and Luminor Quaranta, the Luminor Chrono chronographs, and GMT and Bitempo models. The sister collection Panerai Luminor Marina and the diver's Panerai Submersible, with a dive scale on the bezel, have their own pages.

The key choices are size, material and movement. Cases range from 38 to 47 mm, including the classic 44 mm. Materials include AISI 316L stainless steel, black PVD-coated steel, titanium, rose gold, ceramic and Carbotech composite. Straps come in leather, rubber and canvas, and there are bracelets too.

The collection covers men's and ladies' models produced from 2005 to 2026, including limited editions.
