Audemars Piguet Huitième

ABOUT COLLECTION

Huitième is a line of classic watches from the Swiss manufacture Audemars Piguet in Le Brassus, launched at the end of the 20th century. It appeared when the market was taken with steel sports watches such as the Royal Oak, and bet instead on a round shape and fine finishing. The name is French for “eighth”. The line is easy to recognise by its stepped bezel: the pronounced steps give the round case an architectural depth.

The main choices within the series are the version (automatic chronograph or calendar model), the metal and the condition of the bezel. One example is the Jules Huitième Stainless Steel White Dial Chronograph 40 mm, reference 25644ST: a chronograph with date in a 40 mm steel case with a white dial, powered by the self-winding Audemars Piguet calibre 3124/3841 with a 55-hour power reserve. It has a sapphire crystal and a brown leather strap with a steel buckle.
