Breguet High Jewellery

ABOUT COLLECTION

Breguet High Jewellery is the Swiss brand Breguet's collection of jewellery watches, in which watchmaking sits alongside the work of gem-setters and engravers. The line's theme is the house's female clients: Queen Marie-Antoinette and Caroline Murat, Queen of Naples. Hence the motifs of bows, lace and ribbons, and the oval shapes familiar from 19th-century watches. Caroline Murat's title is also the name of the related Breguet Reine de Naples collection.

Jewellery techniques are at the heart of the series: snow setting, invisible setting of baguette-cut diamonds, and cameos carved from seashell from Torre del Greco in Italy. The brand's watchmaking hallmarks remain: Breguet “pomme” hands, guilloché dials and secret covers over the dial.

One example is the women's High Jewellery GJE16BB20.8924/R01. Its case, of complex geometric form, is 18-carat white gold. Mobile petals on micro-springs make the stones appear to move with every turn of the wrist. The off-centre dial is framed by natural mother-of-pearl and diamonds. Inside is a self-winding movement.
