Tradition is the Breguet collection in which the movement is moved to the dial side. Its prototype is the souscription pocket watch: Abraham-Louis Breguet created it after the French Revolution, and around 700 examples were sold, mostly between 1798 and 1805. The Breguet Tradition wristwatch collection was introduced in 2005 for lovers of open mechanics.
A small dial for the hours and minutes is shifted towards 12 o'clock, while the rest of the surface is taken up by the movement itself: a mainplate and bridges with a matt sand-blasted finish, the gear train, escapement and balance. The case is recognised by its fluted case band. The watches covered here have sapphire crystals on both sides, so the movement can also be seen through the caseback.
Within the collection the choice comes down to complication, size and case material. The Tradition 7027 and Tradition 7057 show the time and power reserve. The Tradition GMT 7067 adds a second time zone with day/night indicator, while the Tradition Date Rétrograde 7597 replaces the power-reserve indicator with a retrograde date.
