Breitling Premier is a collection of classic chronographs from the Swiss brand Breitling. Willy Breitling created the Premier in the 1940s as the brand's first line conceived for style rather than aviation. Production resumed in 2018: today's models recreate the design of the forties but run on modern manufacture calibres.
The collection includes models with different movements. The Premier B01 Chronograph 42 uses the self-winding manufacture calibre Breitling 01 with column wheel and vertical clutch and a power reserve of around 70 hours. The Premier B09 Chronograph 40 is based on the same calibre but is hand-wound, with the same power reserve. The Premier B25 Datora 42 is a self-winding chronograph with calendar and a 48-hour power reserve.
Breitling Premier is made in stainless steel and 18-carat red gold cases; the models covered here are steel, measuring 40 mm for the B09 and 42 mm for the B01 and B25. When choosing within the collection, three things need deciding: which size is more comfortable on the wrist, whether you want automatic winding, and whether a simple chronograph is enough or you need a calendar. The versions include the Premier B01 Chronograph 42 Bentley British Racing Green, from the brand's partnership with Bentley; other watches from this partnership are found in the Breitling Bentley collection.
