F.P. Journe Souveraine

F.P. Journe Souveraine is the classic line of the independent manufacture of François-Paul Journe, which works under the motto Invenit et Fecit (‘invented and made’). The line is based on chronometric precision and in-house movements: since 2004 the manufacture has made the mainplates and bridges of its calibres in 18-carat rose gold.

These are men's hand-wound watches. The classic Chronomètre Souverain is represented by the Rose Gold 40 mm with the Souveraine Chronomètre reference: a 40 mm rose gold case, a silver dial with Clous de Paris guilloché and blued steel hands. The Chronometre Bleu Souveraine Tantalum 2021 has a 39 mm tantalum case and a blue lacquered dial. The Répétition Souveraine minute repeater comes in a 40 mm steel case. The Chronomètre À Résonance has a 950 platinum case and two balances synchronised by resonance, plus a Remontoir d'Égalité constant-force device.

Within the line, the choice is first of all by complication. The chronometer is a strict everyday watch. The repeater strikes the time on demand. The Résonance shows a second time zone. Then come case material and size: 39 and 40 mm cases in platinum, rose gold, steel and tantalum. Condition, set and movement are listed on each product page.
