Harry Winston Midnight

ABOUT COLLECTION

Midnight is the classic line from the jewellery and watch house Harry Winston. It is recognised by the three arches at the crown, which echo the entrance to the brand's historic salon on Fifth Avenue in New York. The other details are restrained: a round case, a slim bezel and fine lugs. Case material is 18-carat white or rose gold.

The line includes ladies' and men's watches. Ladies' models measure 36 and 39 mm. Their bezels and lugs are set with diamonds, and on some models diamonds replace the hour markers. Dials are silver with a sunray finish, champagne or mother-of-pearl. On the Midnight Diamond Stalactites Automatic 36mm, pavé diamonds are scattered over grey mother-of-pearl like a cascade of ice crystals. Men's models measure 42 mm: the Midnight Moon Phase Automatic 42 mm with date and moon phases, and two skeletons, the Midnight Skeleton in Rose Gold and the Midnight Skeleton in White Gold, whose openworked bridges reveal the movement straight through the dial.

The mechanical models are self-winding. Most of the calibres have a silicon balance spring, which makes the movement more resistant to magnetic fields. Power reserves range from 42 to 72 hours, and the mechanical models have sapphire casebacks that show the movement. One of the calibres, GP3300-03, is based on Girard-Perregaux architecture. Among the 39 mm Midnight and Midnight Moon Phase there are also quartz versions.

It is easiest to choose step by step. First the size — ladies' or men's. Then the colour of gold. Then the complication — time only, date, moon phases or skeleton. And finally the movement: self-winding or quartz. The brand's other lines are Ocean, Premier, Avenue and Emerald.
