Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomètre

ABOUT COLLECTION

Duomètre is the line of complicated mechanical watches from the Swiss manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre. It is built on the Dual-Wing concept: the movement is divided into two gear trains, each with its own barrel. One is responsible for timekeeping accuracy, the other for driving the complications. Both are linked to a shared regulating organ, so an engaged function does not draw energy away from the timekeeping.

The first models of the line appeared in 2007. On the same architecture the manufacture built a chronograph, a lunar calendar and a Sphérotourbillon. The series was renewed in 2024, with new models including the Duomètre Chronograph Moon and the Duomètre Heliotourbillon Perpetual.

One example is the Duomètre à Quantième Lunaire with Jaeger-LeCoultre calibre 381, reference 600.3.24.S. The hours and minutes are on the right of the dial, the date and moon phases on the left, and a jumping seconds display at the bottom.

Models within the line differ first of all in their complication: lunar calendar, chronograph or tourbillon. These are watches for a classic dress code, so it is worth checking how they sit under a cuff on the wrist.
