Rolex Pearlmaster

ABOUT COLLECTION

The Pearlmaster is Rolex's jewellery line, which made its debut in 1992. It is based on the Oyster case with a date under the Cyclops magnifying lens, and is distinguished by its gold case, gem-set bezel and its own bracelet.

The Pearlmaster bracelet is made of rounded five-piece links and closes with a concealed Crownclasp, so no clasp is visible and the bracelet reads as a continuous chain on the wrist. Rolex casts its 18 ct gold in its own foundry — here in yellow, white and Everose, the brand's patented rose gold alloy. The diamonds and coloured stones for bezels and dials are checked in Rolex's own gemmological laboratory.

Diameter is a convenient way to choose, as it also determines the movement. At 29 mm, the Lady Pearlmaster Datejust from 1995 has calibre 2135, a COSC chronometer certificate and a 42-hour power reserve. The 34 mm models use calibre 2235 with a 48-hour power reserve; in 2014 the Pearlmaster 34 became the first to receive calibre 2236 with a silicon Syloxi hairspring, but the watches offered here belong to the earlier generation. The largest case, 39 mm, houses calibre 3235: Chronergy escapement, blue Parachrom hairspring, a 70-hour power reserve and accuracy of −2/+2 seconds a day.

Each listing gives the reference, calibre, diameter, case and clasp material, power reserve, dial colour, condition and what is included.
