The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Double Balance Wheel Openworked New Release (ref. 15407ST.OO.1220ST.02) is a men's sports watch with a 41 mm octagonal case in stainless steel. It has a gold and skeletonized dial under sapphire crystal.
It is powered by the self-winding mechanical calibre 3132. Features: Skeletonised dial, double balance, transparent caseback, luminescent hands and markers. Water-resistant to 50 m. The watch is fitted with a Royal Oak bracelet with a folding clasp in steel.
In-house caliber 3132 has a patented assembly of two balance wheels and two hairsprings on the same axis. This synchronised system offsets rate errors and makes the movement resistant to the effects of gravity.

Audemars Piguet was founded in 1875 in Le Brassus, in the Vallée de Joux, by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet, and is still owned by the founding families. The house built its reputation on complicated watches and, in 1972, launched the Royal Oak, designed by Gérald Genta: a steel sports watch with an octagonal bezel held by eight visible screws, a "Tapisserie" dial and an integrated bracelet.
The Royal Oak family dominates the range: the classic Royal Oak in steel, gold, titanium and ceramic, the slim "Jumbo" Extra-Thin, openworked and skeleton versions, perpetual calendars and tourbillon chronographs. The larger, sportier Royal Oak Offshore followed in 1993, alongside the Royal Oak Concept and the round Code 11.59 collection introduced in 2019.
