Hublot Spirit of Big Bang

Spirit of Big Bang is the line in a tonneau (barrel-shaped) case that the Swiss brand Hublot introduced in 2014. The brand builds its models on the Art of Fusion concept, combining different materials in a single case. From the round Big Bang, the line inherited the multi-layer "sandwich" case, six H-shaped titanium screws on the bezel and protective side inserts. The caseback is curved to the shape of the wrist, so the large case sits close to the arm.

The movements vary. The chronographs are skeletonised, with movement parts visible through an open dial. Alongside them are models on in-house hand-wound calibres, including a tourbillon, and a ladies' model with diamonds.

The main choices are case material, size and movement. Cases are made of black ceramic, including Black Magic versions, as well as titanium, carbon and transparent sapphire. The line also uses the brand's own King Gold alloy.
