Blancpain Air Command

ABOUT COLLECTION

Air Command is the pilot's chronograph from the Swiss manufacture Blancpain. The line revives a military chronograph from the late 1950s: its prototype was made for the US Air Force but never went into series production, and the surviving examples have become rare classics.

The watch is recognised by its countdown bezel, tachymeter scale and syringe-shaped hands. Modern models use a high-frequency calibre with flyback function. Case materials include Grade 23 titanium and 18-carat pink gold. Through the transparent caseback you can see the propeller-shaped winding rotor.

Within the line, watches are chosen by movement, metal and case diameter. One example is the men's Air Command Flyback Chronograph in steel: 40.5 mm, black dial with Arabic numerals, rubber strap and Blancpain calibre F185.
