The RM 65-01 is a men's automatic split-seconds chronograph, a line from the Swiss brand Richard Mille introduced in 2020. It is built on the automatic RMAC4 calibre, whose balance beats at 5 Hz (36,000 vibrations per hour) for precise timing.
Three solutions make the complex movement easier to operate. A pusher at 8 o'clock provides a patented rapid-winding function. A function selector is built into the crown. A variable-geometry rotor adapts the automatic winding to the owner, and the power reserve is 60 hours. The time, date and chronograph are shown on a skeletonised, colour-coded dial, with each function in its own colour.
The main choice is the case material; everything else is shared: a 44.5 mm tonneau case, sapphire crystal and black rubber strap. Carbon TPT is used for the RM 65-01 Split Seconds Chronograph Carbon TPT, and Quartz TPT paired with Carbon TPT for the RM 65-01 Split Seconds Chronograph Quartz. Grade 5 titanium was chosen for the Titanium Split-Seconds Chronograph, and rose gold with Carbon TPT for the Split Seconds Chronograph Rose Gold and Carbon TPT. The clasp is titanium, or rose gold and titanium on the rose gold version.
